In my previous post, I stated that I'm a fashion illustrator. I use the Autodesk sketchbook app to sketch, paint and render my works. Today, I'll be showing you how I paint my croquis and design the dresses.

Choose one of the pencils in the app and sketch the pose. This is the most difficult part because you need to keep your hands steady and concentrate.
Use a paint bucket to fill the skin with your chosen base color . Use a thicker pencil to draw the eyebrows and paint the lips and nails 💅.
Use the color wheel to choose a darker version of the base color. Pick the airbrush tool and shade the skin. Increase the pressure of your finger or stylus while shading the breasts, collarbone, thigh and the facial features. This would give it a darker and realistic appearance.
Your model will look like this!
To lighten the image, duplicate it to another layer and change the new layer to "glow". You'll find the glow option once you click on the layer. This will brighten it.
Paint the dress, you can design any style of dress you want. It's up to you.
Use the same style of shading the skin to shade the cloth using a darker shade of the dress base color.
Make sure you start a new layer for each steps you paint on a different layer, shade on a different layer. This will enable you to erase your errors easily without affecting the other layers.

Voilà! Here is the final result
I used the same model to design another beautiful gown.

I hope you enjoyed the post? I'll be posting more about fashion illustrations and digital paintings. Thanks for reading! 🤗
