We are back to everyday life and suddenly everything seems to be just as it always was. Unfortunately, our big break wasn't as big as I would have preferred and April came upon us much quicker than we would have liked.
Well, at least we had a little change of scenery and the great pleasure of finally spending some time in my favorite city, Tokyo. Since we wanted to entertain our special guest in a suitable manner and so we treated ourselves to two short trips. As already mentioned, we went to Aizu again, and after that we visited the Japanese capital, where I immediately felt at home again. Well, I've never really lived here, but at least I've had the privilege of spending some quality time here.
For me the Tokyo metropolitan area feels like my playground, where I have felt extremely comfortable on all my visits. It's not really a secret, but I would still like to live there even now, although the circumstances and conditions of my life are a little different than they used to be. Nevertheless, this huge city still attracts me and I keep discovering so many new places that I really want to get to know better.
As always, my stay in Tokyo was far too short and I would have liked to have stayed there much longer. We were a bit unlucky with the weather, as the winter was desperate to make a fiery comeback and shook us up a bit. But as a precaution, we had warm jackets in our backs and as a backup plan, we decided to visit the National Museum. There you could almost have forgotten that you were in Japan, because the perceived visitor ratio was that there were at least two or three foreign visitors for every Japanese visitor. The museums in Tokyo seem to be popular too and on that cold and wet day we were not the only ones who had the idea of staying warm and dry.
But now we're back home again and eventually the weather has improved. The sun now seems to be happy to be shining on us a little longer and the daytime temperatures are really pleasant. What's more, it's now also sakura time and the world around us suddenly looks so much more beautiful. The many blossoming cherry trees that can be seen everywhere now put me in quite a good mood and sometimes almost make us forget that it's time to roll up our sleeves and get to work again.
We might be able to put off work from time to time, but unfortunately it still doesn't do itself. I have to really get going again these days and I'm keeping my fingers crossed that my preparation has been sufficient. I'm always a little nervous in April, which is perhaps a good thing so that I don't lose my sense of direction.
Now let's see what the next few weeks will bring us. Luckily, spring still feels quite fresh and it's only just starting to get really green outside. As I've probably mentioned before, I have so many plans for the warmer seasons and I really hope that I can realize at least a few of them. As usual, I'm always short of time, because unfortunately there are only 24 hours in a day and only 7 days in a week.
And that means that this year we've already left more than three months behind us and it's now the middle of April. Thankfully, I've already had some great experiences in the past few weeks, so I shouldn't really be complaining. But you know, a little moaning is just part of the game.
Well then, let's get down to business. With all the wonderful memories I've made while on the road this year, it should be a little easier to cope with everything that lies ahead. I'm in a good mood and it doesn't take much to form a perfect big smile in my face. Well, having this in mind I guess everything will be alright after all...
