As already mentioned, during our last stay in Tokyo the weather was not always on our side. After starting out pleasantly warm, it suddenly got wetter and much colder. Even though I didn't want to let this unpleasant weather spoil my mood, I also had to realize that we wouldn't be able to do everything I had planned for us. At least not in the way I had in mind.

Actually, I had wanted to visit a few temples that day, but the constant rain made me change my plan and cut the whole thing short and speed it up in order to bring us back to some warmer and drier place. Our alternative plan was the National Museum in Tokyo, which sounded like an interesting destination to all of us.

The way there took us past a few interesting places, for which we unfortunately didn't have much time left that day, but where I was still able to gather a few very interesting and intense impressions. Like here at the old cemetery in Yanaka, which I had visited a few years ago.

Just like the Aoyama cemetery, there are a lot of old cherry trees in the Yanaka cemetery, which were blooming at the time of our visit to Tokyo. Along the road that ran through the middle of the cemetery, and also along the many smaller paths, you could discover a sea of white and pink blossoms. The scenery around us would have been much more beautiful with sunshine and a blue sky, but even on that cold and wet day, you could clearly feel the magic of this special place.

Even though we rushed through the cemetery quite quickly, I was able to take away a few very strong images and refresh my memories of my previous visits. Some places you just have to see several times, and this cemetery is definitely one of them. And that's why I'm sure it will be at the top of my list in the future when I have the chance to visit the Japanese capital again.

Now when I look back at my pictures I am glad I chose that route on that day. It wasn't the quickest way to get us to the museum but in the end, it was just the way I had to go. My memories are proof of it...
