When it comes to cherry blossom, I have found a few places over the last few years where I have come very close to the magic of this time of year. I therefore visit some of them again and again and have never been disappointed. Nevertheless, every now and then it's a good idea to take a look around and find a few new locations for a rendezvous with Queen Sakura. I probably already know the best ones, as they're not really a secret and I'm usually not the only one there. However, every now and then I still find a few sites where the cherry blossom surprises and inspires me from a completely different perspective and I ask myself why I didn't discover these places much earlier.

Just like this year, when during our cherry blossom tour I saw something glowing in the distance. Well, it's actually glowing quite temptingly everywhere on these days, but this time I had the feeling that I'd better go and have a look. And as the opportunity usually only comes around once, I planned our route back in such a way that we would drive past where I had noticed the enticing glow.

And what can I say...it was worth making this little detour. What we found was a neighborhood park with quite a few magnificent cherry trees in full bloom. The stormy and sometimes wet weather that accompanied our trip that day took pity on us and we used the break to explore this unknown but actually not so hidden park.

We were almost the only ones there, but that made our walk through the park even more enchanting. The cherry trees were lined up just for us and it was great fun to walk and run along them. We still had enough energy to let off some steam here and we couldn't have chosen a better place to do so. As I said, the bad weather took a break and we always have a ball in the trunk. The rest is history, you could say.

I was almost a little proud of myself for having discovered this park. And we now have another destination for the next sakura season, when I'll definitely be walking around again with my eyes wide open and my mouth agape in amazement.

It's nice when we can still be so enthusiastic about life. This early season was the first big highlight of the year, and hopefully there will be many more to come. As usual, I for one have decided to get excited about life as often as I can. After all, our world is great and so often so beautiful. Sometimes we just have to celebrate that...
