As usual, it took far too long, but finally we managed to make it happen. After a far too long time, we found the opportunity again get away from home and explore the country again. A little vacation is always nice, even if I only have a few days off in the end. Nevertheless, I'm not the only one who is really excited and looking forward to everything we get to see on our trip.

This time, we have a very special reason for our short trip, as we have some high-ranking visitors and of course we want to give them something to remember. The time of year may not be ideal, but we are once again on our way to the heartland of the Japanese island kingdom, the Aizu region in the west of Fukushima Prefecture.

The winter there usually lasts much longer than in other parts of Japan, but with warm clothes and a cheerful attitude we are definitely going to have a good time there. Over the years, we have grown fond of this region and even though we have been there several times, it is always a highlight for all of us.

Today there are two first photos to get you in the right mood. I hope to have a little more to report and show in the next few weeks. As I said, I have a few days off and I want to enjoy this opportunity and relax a little myself. But once I'm back to everyday life, I won't withhold from you what we will have experienced here in Aizu.
