Now that we are right in the middle of fall, the summer that made us sweat until recently suddenly seems so far away. The long days and mild evenings when we could sit outside for hours are almost forgotten. It's getting dark far too early these days and there's no end in sight. On the contrary, the darkness is set to increase and soon there will also be that all-pervasive wet cold that characterizes winter over here.
But fortunately, those memories are not completely lost and can be activated quite quickly if the opportunity arises. You usually just need an occasion or a trigger to do this and, as usual, a few photos taken on warmer and friendlier days can help.
And that's how it is again this time as well, when I look at a few of the pictures I took at the beginning of September. Even though the sky was shining in a sparkling blue that day and the temperatures were extremely warm without a cloud in sight, the change of seasons was already noticeable. But I refused to be overwhelmed by this and instead took the opportunity to jump into the water again, which was still quite warm. September would actually be perfect for swimming if it weren't for those nasty little jellyfish, which can quickly spoil your swimming fun with their long stinging nettles. But I still wanted to get into the water and was lucky enough to be able to swim my laps undisturbed that day.
Unfortunately, the swimming season was over for me very quickly after that. It was probably here in the sea that I picked up this painful ear infection, which took quite a while to heal. Frolicking in the water would have been rather counterproductive, which was not an easy realization given the great weather in September. But sometimes you just have to make sacrifices, there's no use complaining or moaning.
And even if the swimming trunks have to stay in the closet for a while now, I still come to the sea and the beach regularly. The fresh air here helps me to relax and sort out my thoughts. And it brings back all those great memories that remind me of summer all over again. It's good to reminisce about these memories and at the same time it makes me look forward to next year. But it's still a while until then and I'm sure I'll have fun in other ways too. That's something you can bet on!
