Sometimes things can happen very quickly. At first you were right at the top and had reached the peak, the summit where you can't go any higher. And from there you inevitably have to choose the way down, and it seems as if you are walking straight into the valley of tears. But if you take a closer look at the situation, you soon realize that there is no reason to complain and moan. On the contrary, the sun is still shining all around you and life is just as great as ever.
And of course this also applies to the cherry blossom, which has just waved goodbye to us. As usual, this farewell happened far too quickly, at least for those who looked closely and watched the spectacle first hand.
A week can make a big difference, as today's two pictures clearly show. Where a week ago you were sitting under a bright white canopy of flowers, seven days later there are only reddish buds, but already quite a lot of green.
At first glance, one would clearly opt for the second (earlier) picture, when the cherry blossom was in full bloom. But even on my later visit, when most of the blossoms were already down, I felt very comfortable here under these trees and didn't want to leave again, just like the first time.
Is the cherry blossom ultimately not that important? Nobody wants to confirm that, but it shows that every moment can have its charm and appeal. And that we don't have to be sad when the peak is reached and everything seems to be over. It always goes on, and life will charm us again tomorrow. At least if we allow it to happen.
That's why I don't have to be afraid, even though I am often accompanied by something of a melancholy mood. When we open our eyes tomorrow morning, there will be the next opportunity to experience something great. And I'm ready for it and I'm determined not to miss this opportunity.
