After the color white has dominated here in the city in recent weeks, it's just time for a little cheerfulness. And what fits better than the Tanuki, the Japanese raccoon dog, who likes to keep us happy and make us laugh.

During one of our trips we met not only one Tanuki, but a whole extended family. Oh how great was the joy on both sides, we couldn't get out of smiling and patting each other, and we had so much to tell each other.

I don't meet a Tanuki every day, and if you meet these little guys in broad daylight, you have to take advantage of the opportunity and not just rush by.

Tanukis like to attract everyone's attention. That's why you often meet them at night in front of places that serve spicy firewater. These little racers always seem to be in a good mood and like to share it with everyone.

And as it seems, they also get around well and have a lot to report. You should therefore take a little time and listen carefully, because you can certainly learn a lot. They don't seem to be averse to culinary pleasures either, at least judging by their bellies, and that's probably why they can give us one or two recommendations as to where we should perhaps visit as well.

As a small thank you for this unexpected but very entertaining change, I invited the Tanuki to my place. He didn't know yet when he could drop by, but he would be very happy to stay for some time or even for a little longer and to please us with his presence.

After all, the spring has just begun, so hopefully when it gets warmer we can count on his presence. It would be an honor for all of us and I am sure he will also feel comfortable and at our home. Because Tanukis are not very demanding but then enjoy life to the fullest.

We are already looking forward to seeing you again!
