It's hard to miss that fall is all around us these days. The weather has recently changed and summer suddenly seems a long way off. Although it was still far too warm just until a few days ago. But that's how quickly things can change sometimes and all you can do is marvel at the moods that even Mother Nature seems to be blessed with.

But fall is actually a beautiful time of year. At least the first half, or maybe even the first two-thirds. Here in Japan, the pleasant weather often lasts well into November before it gets really wet and gray in December. But we're not there yet, we can still look forward to a few beautiful weeks and days in which nature will once again show its really colorful and fiery side.

But it's not just the leaves on the bushes and trees that are glowing brightly, there are still plenty of colorful blossoms to be discovered here and there. And if I can't find anything at all, luckily I know where I always manage to discover a few flowers.

In our large shrine in the center of the city, they have been decorating the water basins in the entrance area for a few years now, which are actually used for ritual hand cleansing. Visitors are greeted by ever-changing flower and blossom arrangements, which have also caught my attention.

I try to stop by regularly to see what flowers are on display again. So far, I have never been disappointed and I have always been delighted by the elegant, colorful sight that presents itself to my eyes and senses.

On our last visit, the signs were clearly pointing to fall. The flowers in the water basin perfectly matched the season and the branches of pampas grass indicated at which point of the year we were. A pretty sight, which of course I had to photograph immediately.

I know I'm probably repeating myself, but it really doesn't take much to make me feel better. As with this place, sometimes a basin filled with colorful flowers is enough to bring joy and a smile to my face. After all, life is sometimes stressful enough, so we should allow ourselves to relax our stressed thoughts occasionally. It definitely helps me when I stop right here and rest for a moment and look at the lovingly arranged flowers. I'll definitely be back, and I'm already excited to see what it will look like next time. And I promise I'll tell you about it again...
