While we discuss about human rights and level of political freedom, democracy or totalitarianism, privacy, lgbt rights and things like that in other part of world female live in some kind of medieval slavery. They must cover their faces "not to provoke" men ?! We're talking about Islamic republic of Iran. There is hijab police in that country which arrest and execute woman who dare to show her face publicly. How does it sound to you ? One such woman had been executed in Iran and female gather on funeral and removed hijabs in protest! Some of them cut hair in protest and uploaded that on internet! What will religion leaders tell about this ?
I knew woman of Persia were beautiful, that Alexander Macedonian married Darius daughter Stateira (Barsine). After he defeated Persian army and captured his wife and daughter he order no one can touch them and threat them with respect they deserve. He then married her and soon after organized mass wedding of 10,000 of his soldiers with 10,000 Persian woman. His wife was the most beautiful woman of that time. I heard lecture of local professor of history on University who said this about great warrior's death. "To die like that during a binge in Babylon,, in arms of the most beautiful woman of his time we can only be jealous at him!" It seems it was not characteristics of that particular woman. It looks like it's characteristics of majority of woman in ancient Persia and in today's Iran. Why not let them show their beauty in public ? I am sure we man can control ourselves. If Alexander the Great with so big military power could, there is no reason why today men wouldn't be able to control themselves and be normal and let woman be equal. Their lives are harder than men I can assure you that. Imagine that pain in your abdomen 5-6 days every month, blood... That's enough, for me and I didn't come to childbirth.
This heroic act in fight for basic freedom like to show your face in public with risking of being executed by some religion fundamentalists is act of admiration. Executing of woman for showing their faces is deeply wrong and execute such beauties would be a crime against humanity and mankind. I hope local religious leader in Iran will have mercy and think about allowing women who want that to show their faces in public. I am sure men in Iran and all around the world would like that! Islam can be practiced without that. Here on Balkans people are practicing it without forcing woman to cover faces.
