It was a sad day in South Africa and Africa as a whole as renowned Archibshop Desmond Tutu joined his maker on Boxing Day. Desmond Tutu attained the highest position in Anglican church when he was made Archibshop of Cape Town in 1982 following years on service. He was a Nobel peace prize recipient in 1984 as a result of his role and advocacy in the fight against apartheid regime in South Africa. Tutu been a frontline advocate for peace and unity not only in South Africa but across Africa and the world as a whole. This was stem from the peace and reconciliation committee he headed when Nelson Mandela pointed him to cheer the healing process of South Africa. Desmond Tutu's policy is centered on forgiveness and reconciliation and this has become an international model of conflict resolution and a trusted process of pos-tconflict reconstruction.

I never knew about Desmond Tutu until some few years ago I came across one of his books "God Is Not A Christian" which caught my attention. I have went on to read other books written by him like "God Had A Dream. Other of his books includes "A Vision of Hope for Our Times" The Book of Joy" "No Future Without Forgiveness" "In Gods Hands".

Archbishop Desmond Tutu died at a very old age of 90 years. He was a man of strong faith, words and of strong conviction. His impact in peace and resolution cannot be overemphasized and and will be forever remembered for his good works. As you transit to another phase of life, I pray your soul to find eternal peace.
