The following are things that I have learned about spirits while reading my King James Version of the Holy Bible. Even if you do not believe like I do that this Bible is the true Word of God, it might still be interesting and informative for you to read over what it says concerning the subject of spirits.

The Spirit of the Lord can move you. Jg. 13:25
The Spirit of God can kindle anger. Isa. 11:6
An evil spirit can be sent away by the playing of a cunning harp player. 1 Sam. 16:23
The Spirit of the Lord can carry you where you can not be found 1 Kings 18:12
Your spirit can come onto another person. 2 Kings 2:9, 2 Kings 2:15
A nation or group of people can have a spirit. 2 Ch. 21:16, Isa 19:3, Jer. 51:11
Your spirit can be stirred up to do things by the Lord. 2 Ch. 36:22, Ezr 1:1, Hag 1:14, Acts 17:16
Your spirit can be raised by God to do work. Ezr 1:5
A spirit can cause hair raising dreams of great fear. Job 4:15
Your spirit can suffer anguish. Job 7:11
Your spirit can be preserved. Job 10:12
Spirit can contain guile. Ps. 32:2
A spirit can be cut off by God. Ps. 76:12
A spirit can be overwhelmed. Ps 77:3, Ps. 142: 3,4
A spirit can search for God. Ps. 77:6
A spirit can be steadfast with God or it can not be steadfast with God. Ps. 78:8
The Spirit of God creates. Ps. 104:30
Your spirit can be provoked by others to do bad things. Ps. 106:33
Your spirit can be breached/overcome by a perverse tongue. Pr. 15:4
Your spirit can be broken by sorrow. Pr. 15:13
You can rule your spirit. Pr. 16:32, Pr. 25:28
Your spirit can sustain you when sick. Pr. 18:14
Your spirit is God's candle to what is inside you. Pr. 20:27
A spirit can be vexed by the things and works of the world. Ec. 1:14,17, Isa 65:14
The spirit of man goes up after death the spirit of animals goes down into the earth. . Ec 3:21
No man has the power to keep his spirit or stop his body from dying. Ec. 8:8
We can not understand where spirit comes from we just know that God creates it. Ec. 11:5
Your spirit returns to God after death. Ec 12:7
Spirit and flesh are different. [flesh is of the earth and returns to earth, spirit is of God and returns to God]. John 3:6

John the Baptist was born with the spirit and power of Elias/Elijah. Luke 1:17

Jesus commanded unclean spirits. Luke 8:29
An unclean spirit can have power over a person and cause them harm. Luke 9:39 – 42
God gives the Holy Spirit to us like we give gifts to our children. Luke 11:13
Spirits do not have flesh and bones. Luke 24:39
The spirit of God can descend like a dove. John 1:32
You must be born of water and of spirit to enter the Kingdom of God. John 3:5
A person can not tell with their physical senses where a spirit comes from or where it goes. John 3:8
We receive God's Spirit by measure from God but Jesus received God's Spirit in its fullness. John 3:34
You must worship God in spirit and in truth. John 4:22, 24
God is a spirit. John 4:24
God's Spirit gives life. John 6:63
You can grow in the spirit. John 11:23
The Spirit of God can give you words to speak even in other languages. Acts 2:4
The Spirit of God can speak to you. Acts 8:29, Acts 10:19
You can be caught away by the Spirit of God and carried to another place. Acts 8:32
God's Spirit can prevent you from going somewhere. Acts 16:7
Paul was able to remove a spirit of divination from a person in the name of “Jesus Christ”. Acts 16:18
God's Spirit can press you to testify. Acts 18:5
Evil spirits can speak, they know Jesus, and they can call people by name. Acts 19:15
The Spirit of God can bind you to do something for Him. Acts 20:22
We can serve God with our spirit. Rom. 1:9
The spirit of the life in Christ can make you free. Rom. 8:2
God's Spirit can bear witness with our spirit. Rom. 8:16
God's Spirit helps our infirmities. Rom. 8:26
God's Spirit makes intercession for us. Rom 8:26
You can know the mind of the Spirit of God (spirit has a mind/thoughts?). Rom. 8:27
Men can preach in the Spirit and Power of God. 1 Cor. 2:4
God can reveal things to you by His Spirit. 1 Cor. 2:10
A man's spirit can only know the things of man, it takes God's Spirit to know the things of God. 1 Cor. 2:11
The Spirit of God is in those that are saved. 1 Cor 3:16
Even though you are not bodily in a place your spirit can be there. 1 Cor. 5:3,4, Col. 2:5
A person that is saved can have their body turned over to Satan but their spirit is still saved. 1 Cor. 5:5
Saved people are all one spirit. 1 Cor. 6:17, 12:4
The spirit and body of a saved person belong to God. 1 Cor 6:20
The spirit of God will not speak/curse against Jesus and no spirit will call Jesus Lord except the Spirit of God. 1 Cor 12:3
Flesh lusts against spirit and spirit against flesh keeping you from doing the things you would like to do. Gal. 5:17
The fruit of the Spirit of God are Love, Joy, Peace, Longsuffering, Gentleness, Goodness, and Faith.
- Compare this to the works of the flesh which are, Adultery, Fornication, Uncleanness, Lasciviousness, Idolatry, Witchcraft, Hatred, Variance, Emulation’s, Wrath, Strife, Sedition’s, Heresies, Envying, Murders, Drunkenness, Reveling. Gal 5:22
You can sow to the flesh or the spirit. Sowing to the flesh brings corruption. Sowing to the spirit brings life everlasting. Gal. 6:8
You can be sealed by the Holy Spirit of promise. Eph 1:13
God is revealed to us through Apostles and Prophets by His Spirit. Eph. 3:5
The word of God is the Sword of the Spirit of God. Eph. 6:17
The Spirit of God can be quenched. 1 Thes. 5:19
The Soul and Spirit can be divided/separated by the Word of God. Heb. 4:12
A body without a spirit is dead. James 2:26
Our spirit wants to envy. James 4:5
A meek and quiet spirit is very valuable to God. 1 Peter 3:4
You can try spirits to see if they are of God (he must confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh to be of God). 1 John 4:1
You can be “in” the spirit of God. Rev. 1:10, 4:2, 17:3
God can make Angels into spirits. Ps. 104:4, Heb. 1:7
There are four spirits that have gone out of the heavens into different parts of the earth. Zec 6:5
You can take many wicked spirits unto yourself. Mat. 12:45
People can be vexed with unclean spirits. Luke 6:18, Acts 5:16
You can have the gift of discerning spirits. 1 Cor 12:10
There are seven Spirits of God. Rev. 1:4, 3:1, 4:5
The Law of God is spiritual. Rom. 7:14
He that is spiritual judges all things yet he himself is judged by no man. 1 Cor. 2:15
There is a natural body and there is a spiritual body. The first body is natural the next body will be spiritual. 1 Cor. 15:44-46
You can be poor in spirit Mt 5:3
The Spirit of man:
The spirit is given by God, not derived from man,
Ecclesiastes 12:7
Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the
spirit shall return unto God who gave it.
The spirit is formed within the individual by God,
Zechariah 12:1
The burden of the word of the LORD for Israel, saith the
LORD, which stretcheth forth the heavens, and layeth the
foundation of the earth, and formeth the spirit of man within
him.
The Soul:
Souls are also made by God
Isa 57:16
For I will not contend for ever, neither will I be always wroth:
for the spirit should fail before me, and the souls which I have
made.
