Khaled al-Mishai, the mastermind behind the killing of 26 Bangladeshis in Libya, was killed in a drone strike on Tuesday, The Libya Observer reported on its official Twitter page.

The tweet was sent to the media on Wednesday by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bangladesh.

Khaled al-Mishai, a member of Libya's Khalifa Haftar militia, was killed in a drone strike south of the city of Gharian, according to the tweet.

According to the tweet, Al-Mishai was accused of killing 26 Bangladeshis and 4 African immigrants.

The slain Bangladeshis all went to Libya through human trafficking ring with the intention of going to Europe illegally.

Meanwhile, RAB has arrested at least three people from different parts of Bangladesh on charges of being involved in illegal human trafficking ring.

On 26 May, in the Libyan city of Mizda, an area outside the control of the Libyan UN-backed government, the abductors shot dead 30 people, including 26 Bangladeshis.
