A world headed for destruction! Titus 1:15-16 15 Unto the pure all things are pure: but unto them that are defiled and unbelieving is nothing pure; but even their mind and conscience is defiled. 16 They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate. Photo by: Judy Dean on Flickr I have been considering the world's woes here lately and these words and warnings from the Bible keep coming to mind. The word "Reprobate" is defined in Webster's 1828 dictionary as; REPROBATE, a. L. reprobatus, reprobo, to disallow; re and probo, to prove. Not enduring proof or trial; not of standard purity or fineness; disallowed; reject Abandoned in sin; lost to virtue or grace. Abandoned to error, or in apostasy. They never truly give God glory or acknowledge His power. ( i.e. they deny creation, salvation, power over death and the grave, resurrection, or his revealed attributes). Reprobates have a foolish heart that has been darkened. In the days of Noah, before the flood, the world was full of reprobates and their thoughts were of violence and evil all the day long. This blog has just been about what I have been thinking when I watch the news, watch a TV show or movie, or walk around in my city and shop in our local stores. It comes to my mind when eating in restaurants, or walking in parks. People talk with reprobate lips, they express reprobate thoughts and ideas, I see the loss of natural affection in their actions. As hearts begin more and more to darken, crime will rise to higher and higher heights. People will not be able to trust each other over even the smallest things, much less the big things. Treason will abound and contracts will become worthless. Who among us still trusts their government? Do you have any family or neighbors that you can still fully trust? I would be surprised to hear that your number of trusted entities had not suffered loss over the last few years. I believe that the population as a whole is sinking into a reprobate mind and that there is a reprobate spirit that is driving the world toward destruction. I hope that I am wrong, but that is my judgement of the situation that we are facing right now. We may all posses some traits of a reprobate, none of us are perfect. But when a person is given over to a reprobate mind and their conscience is as if seared with a hot iron such they can do anything they desire, no matter who it hurts, without the slightest bit of remorse, then there is no longer any hope for them. What then if the entire world is in the process of being turned over to a reprobate mind? What if a day is coming that almost no one has a conscience, and instead everyone begins to do as they please as long as they think that they can get away with it? We already witness babies killed by the millions due to abortion, and that fact bothers fewer and fewer people every year. We see cities bombed into oblivion and millions of people displaced by wars, are you numb to these things yet? I saw videos of wounded soldiers killing themselves or being killed by a friend because they knew that nobody was coming to help and they didn't want to suffer any more. I saw men, women and children being killed, whole families representing multiple generations just because of where they lived or what part of the world they happened to be visiting at the time. Can you have a conscience and do these things? In some places there are too many rapes and murders to even report in the news on an individual basis now, so they just publish the rising statistics. I hardly even knew that human trafficking still existed for a good portion of my life, and it was only recently that I discover that I lived within a few miles of one of the largest human trafficking corridors in my Nation. That just seems crazy to me, how could that be? Have we no laws? Does no one care that our children are being abducted and sold into slavery? I remember when one act of child abduction was National news, today there are thousands of cases and it hardly raises an eyebrow. Recent News Report SOCIAL MEDIA Child predators are using Discord, a popular app among teens, for sextortion and abductions “What we see is only the tip of the iceberg,” said Stephen Sauer, the director of the tipline at the Canadian Centre for Child Protection. And then there is this; What is there to understand? What did Sodom and Gomorrah have that we don't have? In my Bible, God says that when you start to hear of wars and rumors of war, and when the situation in the world is like it was before the great flood and before the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah were destroyed, then you will know that the world is again on the precipice of judgement. That judgement will not be by water this time, but by fire, by war, by pestilence, by plagues, by wild animals, by starvation, by polluted waters, by the sun, by storms and waves, earthquakes and volcanoes, and by lawlessness. My advice it that you make sure that you are not counted among the reprobates when that time comes. It could start tomorrow or it could still be years away, but it will happen and I don't believe it is far off. As bad as all of this sounds, there is still hope for the world. What is the point of all this coming death and destruction? Has God given up on His creation and His people? No, It is just the opposite, God does not want anyone to perish, He would like nothing better than for everyone to turn back to Him. So why are these things happening and why must judgment come? For one thing, those that have been given over to a reprobate mind and are without a conscience are dead already, yet are without understanding. These will remain for a time to show the people who still retain a conscience and who are still able to see the truth of God's written in creation itself, what the world is like when God relinquishes almost full control, even for a short, to a reprobate mind and spirit. It is sin that is being judged, wherever sin and the effects of sin are found the land must be completely purged of that sin. It is impossible for us to purge all of the sin from our own lives, it is only the Spirit of God that can do that. Currently this happens when we trust God, or more commonly known as having faith in what He did for us on the cross that we could not do for ourselves. Through this faith we are saved by His grace, or His free gift to us. We can take no credit for our own salvation, if it were possible for us to save ourselves in any way then there would have been no need for God to become flesh and die on the cross. Once we believe and receive that grace, then the Holy Spirit gives us a new spirit of peace, love, and truth. This new spirit brings us into fellowship with God and ends the rebellion of our soul, thus our soul is justified by the spirit. There is a day coming when this time of grace will end. Those who profess faith in God during the years of tribulation and judgement will be hunted down and killed for that faith by those in power with a reprobate mind. Thus if a person fails to seek God now, and if they are not willing to turn their life over to him during this time of grace, then it will be much harder for them later when the reprobates are ruling on earth, because then the life of a reprobate will start to look like the easier road to travel. What remains unresolved after salvation is our flesh, which was formed from the dust of the earth, an earth that remains corrupted by sin. Thus our bodies retain the sin nature until God returns for us, or until the end of judgement. The bodies of the children of God will one day be redeemed from the earth and will no longer retain the sin nature that we inherited from Adam. After we receive those new bodies there will never be any more temptation to sin, no more pain, hunger, thirst, trouble, or death. During this coming time of judgement many will turn to God and they will learn to trust and depend on Him, and not themselves, not governments, not the philosophies of men, and not to dumb idols. Tribulation will cleans the land of sin and sinners and the earth will be restored and renewed. The Nations will be healed and people will continued to live their lives. This is not the end of it by far, but there will be 1000 years of peace on the earth until the plan of God for His creation has been fully completed. Those who call on the name of the Lord and put their trust in Him will be saved. It is not death here in this world that we have to worry about, everyone dies eventually. The death that we all should worry about is the second death. To die in this world is to be temporarily separated from family, friends and other loved ones, but the second death is to be judged reprobate, unworthy, impure, filled with sin, rejected and separated from God as well as all family, friends and loved ones forever. God is the provider of all that is good, to be separated from God is to never know good again. Don't allow yourself to join with the reprobates in rebellion against our creator, seek God now with a tender heart and a contrite spirit. If you honestly seek truth you can find Him.
